I have had the great pleasure of introducing the services of USFI as the primary printed material vendor for the Jumeirah Essex House Hotel. It has proved to be one of the most effective procedural changes I have implemented at the hotel.
In the past, Jumeirah utilized no less than five (5) different companies for various printing needs for the various departments throughout the hotel. This was partly due to the fact that many vendors could not duplicate the item to the strict Branding Standards of our parent company, Jumeirah International. Some of the vendors were grossly overpriced, some presented shoddy workmanship, and still others lacked the item or the resources to provide us with our needs.
I first met with the Sales Management team in February of 2007, and since then we have transferred over 90% of our printing needs to USFI. They personally worked with me as Project Manager, the Sales Department (to meet the requirements brand standards) and the individual departments satisfying the needs of the hotel. I have found they have examined to the last detail the stock, font, PMS color and dyes to meet the strict standards of our parent company, and have even made suggestions on environmentally friendly methods of the printed materials. The quality of their workmanship has proven impeccable, and the professionalism of their staff has shown to be diligent and patient in providing us a product proud to hold the Jumeirah name.
Their creative team has also presented new and innovative ways to present new ideas, trim costs and improve the quality of the printed item. Their sales team always displays a personal interest in the property and I have never found them to be unavailable.
Of course, cost is a major factor in deciding on any company and USFI has proven their prices to be the same if not significantly lower than their competitors. More importantly, for companies within New York City, is their warehousing of your current inventory of printed materials until they are needed. A simple request on their convenient website can have an item in stock available overnight in an emergency, or inexpensively shipped via their own shipping company. They have proven punctual in shipping the item when it is needed, using reliable shipment firms. Monthly reports keep us abreast of the inventory at hand and helps examine the cost control of this vital aspect of hotel operations. One of the finer perks is an up-to-date sample folder of all the printed items they have printed and are available to the hotel.
